~ August 2001 ~

August 23, 2001 ~ Thursday

Things that make me grumpy:

** Waking up with a sore back
** Waking up with tired feet when they had all night to rest
** Feeling old because you wake up with a sore back and tired feet
** Being undecided about the color or length of your nails
** The fact that you allow your nail status to make you grumpy
** Store clerks that see you standing at the counter waiting to be checked out, who don't tell you until 5 minutes later that you have to go to another counter to be checked out
** Your husband getting even more grumpy than you do and causing a small scene in the store by saying sarcastic remarks loud enough for the clerk to hear him
** An ice cream cone that melts faster than you can eat it
** Which causes laughter and results in eating the ice cream cone even slower when if the darn cone wasn't melting so quickly in the first place you would have been all set
** Taking a shower but forgetting to wash your hair
** Shaving your legs in the shower and then getting out and realizing you missed a small patch of hair
** Not having enough time to get BACK in the shower to wash your hair and finish shaving the spot you missed
** That gross feeling you have all day when you have forgotten to wash your hair in the shower
** Being completely self-conscious that someone is going to notice that one spot of hair you missed when you shaved and feeling like  you want to hide from the world
** Being hot at work
** Being hot at work because you don't have a fan
** Having to go shopping for a fan because you are so hot at work
** Going to several stores and being told (in the middle of August) (when it's HOT) that they are all out of fans
** Not understanding how several stores can allow their stock of fans to become so low that they run out of fans

August 14, 2001 ~ Tuesday

So, thanks to my president I will be receiving a check for $600 at the end of this month which will be used to FINALLY get my car on the road.  I am excited!  I am happy!  I love my new little car!  I love my A/C!  I love my CD player!  I love my President!  I'm just full of love today!  Well, my car is cute... you wouldn't understand.  It's precious and I miss driving it.  I'm looking forward to driving myself to work.

I thought George W. did a great job with the whole stem cell research issue.  I watched him give that 10 minute speech and I believe he made the right decision.  So far I am very happy with his presidency.  I feel like he is really striving to live up to all his campaign promises.  I am still very happy he is president even though I don't talk about him so much anymore.

I use the words "really" and "very" alot.  Like, shouldn't I have a bigger vocabulary by age 31?  Whatever.  Who asked you?!  =oÞ

I really like chocolate ice cream lately.  Just plain old chocolate ice cream.  Yum!

I hurt my foot today.  =o(  I must have pulled a tendon or muscle or something because it only hurts when I walk on it.  Which is really inconvenient.  I hope it will feel better by tomorrow morning.  I don't feel like limping all over the place.  So I've iced it, heated it, and had it massaged... I've done everything I can to help it feel better.

Yawn... I'm so tired!  I didn't sleep well last night at all.  I think I woke up in the night from a bad dream but I couldn't remember the dream.  Which is fine except for the fact that I still had that "I've had a bad dream" feeling and I just couldn't fall back asleep right away.  I hope tonight will be better.

Nite nite!

August 13, 2001 ~ Monday

My nails are wet so I want you to recognize the sacrifice I am making just to publish the latest news in my ever boring life.  My life is never boring.  That is the first piece of news I must share.  And it frightens me to even say that my life may be boring even one moment of one day.  Normally as soon as I even insinuate things are boring something exciting happens, only it's not always good exciting.  Sometimes it's "yeast infection" exciting, sometimes it's "I can't register my car" exciting, sometimes it's "I broke a nail" exciting, sometimes it's "we have a plumbing problem" exciting.  And if you really think about it... none of those things are exciting... they are just annoying!!!

The second piece of news is that I do have something GOOD exciting to share.  I am soon only going to be working part time!  I am very happy and excited about that.  It will be difficult to relinquish my crown from 12:30 to 5:00 pm.  Well, I'll be working 8:00 am to 12:30 pm so I'll still grip that baby with my life!  Hehehehe!!!  But it will be really nice.  I will have so much more time to do the things that my heart longs to do... spend time with family and friends, work on my music and writing.  It will be awesome... and my hubby is such a good care giver to me.  It's all thanks to him that I have this opportunity!

The third piece of news is that I got my hair cut. My Mom cut it for me and it's pretty cool I guess.  I needed a change and since I'm still too chicken as of right now to get my nose pierced I guess I had to settle for a hair cut.  But I can't stop thinking about that nose ring... some day I may surprise you all...

August 5, 2001 ~ Sunday

Wow, stress is really taking a toll on my body.  I need to find a way to reduce my stress.  I have yet another yeast infection.  I know that it is directly related to stress.  When I am stressed my blood sugar goes up, when my blood sugar goes up I get yeast infections.  I don't always handle stress the best way if you consider that basically I just ignore it and hope it goes away.  But I'm getting older now and can't tolerate the effects it has on me in the same way.  I can't keep pretending that the stress will just resolve itself.  But I really don't know what to do about it.  I know one thing that I really need to do is start using my treadmill again.  I need to get some exercise!!

Hey, look at my beautiful new nephew, (Click on pic to view entire pic!)
I don't even think I have talked about Warren yet.  He is actually my great nephew.  And I was in the delivery room when Kara gave birth to him!  It was an awesome experience and we are so happy to have him!!  Well, the other night Warren and his Auntie (that's me!) took some pictures!  Mostly his Auntie took the pictures, and he just kinda hung around allowing me to capture his preciousness!  I had to snap the pictures really quickly though because Warren has decided in his young age that he'd rather be held than pose for pics!  Isn't he beautiful though?!  You can meet Warren and his Mom and Dad HERE !!!

August 3, 2001 ~ Friday

Can you believe I took approximately 80 phone calls today at work?  I think that's crazy or something!  And these aren't easy phone calls mind you.  I have to actually "do" something for each one of these customers.  Most of the time it involves some serious investigation into what kind of trouble they're having with their account.  Unbelievable.  And some of these phone calls can last 20 minutes at a time!  No wonder I'm stressed.

Wahhh... I'm whining I know.  But a girl needs to once in a while.  Otherwise she wouldn't be a girl.  How stereotypical I know.  Women libbers would go nuts reading some of the stuff I write.  Oh well.  I'm old fashioned.  And since this is my journal I guess I can say whatever I want.  Freedom of speech... it's a wonderful thing!

August 2, 2001 ~ Thursday

I have a very serious problem... The toilet paper in the ladies room at work always has one little tiny corner hanging from it.  Each sheet is perforated so that you can tear it evenly, however the cheap brand of tp we have in there always ends up with one little corner hanging.  I, in all my anal-tivity, cannot handle that.  So I try, ever so gently, to rip off the remaining hanging piece, which then results in a little tiny corner of the next sheet being ripped out with it.  So I decide to rip that whole sheet off but again... one tiny corner clings tightly.  And thus begins a vicious cycle of ripping toilet paper until there is nothing left and I begin with a whole new role.  It's really uncool.

I am exaggerating.  (A little.)

Dwayne is now receiving advice about how to paint my toenails from a man named Richard who stumbled upon my site and just wrote me an encouraging email.  It's very cool when someone, a literal stranger, comes to my site, reads it, and writes to me.  I love that!  Thanks for all the advice Richard!  I will be brave and let him have at them one of these days!!!

I keep meaning to write alot more than I have been but it's so hard.  Work is CRAZY and I barely have time to breathe anymore.  And since sleep is a good thing I need to get a little bit of it once in a while.  I guess I could stop obsessing so much about my fingernail and toenail polishing but then Richard and I wouldn't have anything to talk about!  (Wink!)  Hehehehe!
